Garlic shrimp with creamy sauce

Garlic shrimp is a delicious, quick, and easy 15-minute meal (including prep!) that you definitely need to make for your dinner date night. It is a great seafood recipe to make when you’re looking for something light but flavorful, and it pairs perfectly with some pasta or rice!

Ingredients:

  • 2 lb. jumbo shrimp, peeled, deveined, and tails removed
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 + ½ cups heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons white wine
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ cup white cheddar cheese, shredded (or grated Parmesan cheese)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

Directions:

1. In a large pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil for 2 minutes until the hot oil is sizzling hot. In the same pan, add the shrimp and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are pink and cooked through—season with salt and pepper to taste. Place in a serving dish to cool down quickly.

2. In a large saucepan or stockpot over medium-high heat, melt the butter. When it begins to foam and bubble, add the wine and stir until completely combined (about one minute).

3. In a small saucepan, combine heavy cream, Italian seasoning, and white cheddar. Stir until well combined, and the sauce has come to a simmer. Reduce the heat to medium and stir continuously until the sauce is thickened enough for your liking.

4. Toss the cooked shrimp in the skillet once more before serving with pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes. Garnish with parsley and serve right away.
